When Pastor B. planted a church on the edge of a trading centre in rural Malawi, eleven people came — most of them his relatives. The nearest thing to outreach he could afford was his own two feet.
Then a Galcom-equipped partner station began broadcasting his weekly Bible teaching. The signal reaches an hour's walk in every direction, into villages Pastor B. has never had time to visit. Strangers started arriving on Sundays, saying they had been listening for months and wanted to see the man on the radio.
Three years later the congregation numbers over a hundred, and the church has planted two daughter fellowships in listening villages. “The radio goes ahead of me,” Pastor B. told the station team. “By the time I arrive, the preaching is already done. I just answer questions.”
